Engaging Families in the Joy of Reading

You've probably heard how important it is to build connections with your students' families, to reach out to them as partners in their child's education. To make that a little easier for you, we're thrilled to offer letters for you to share with parents or guardians, introducing them to Storyworks and providing simple tips for sharing the joy of reading with their children.

We offer a letter for each issue—in English and Spanish—that you can easily download and send home in students' backpacks, email to families, post on your class webpage, or distribute at parent-teacher conferences. Each one includes three super doable ideas to encourage reading together and to spark conversations at home.

There's also a second page, if you choose to include it, which introduces our website's Student View and gives you a ready-made way to provide your class password to families. The Spanish letter includes the debate in Spanish, to make this popular Storyworks feature accessible in even more homes.
